It appears that I'll be taking a trip to Hogsmeade soon, but the trip should be a productive afternoon, I think.  I'm sure that Jamie still needs some supplies for school, and Jenny never minds a trip to Honeydukes (a belated birthday gift, I think).

[Warded against Purebloods]
Hopefully Honeydukes and the other shops there will distract them enough that they won't notice when I have to go register my wand.

I never really thought that I would use a ward like this.  I've always tried to be understanding and give the benefit of the doubt- especially when others haven't given me the same- but this latest from the Ministry makes me question...  It just doesn't make any sense to me.  I'm every inch magical just as much as anyone else.  My son loves quidditch just as much as (if not more than) any other child.  And others may argue that purebloods are being subjected to the same treatment, though I wonder how long that "equality" will last.  I hate that I'm so cynical.

It's obvious that I'm not really thrilled with this latest... development.  But not liking it doesn't really make a good excuse, unfortunately.  Never mind that I couldn't afford the fine, anyway.  Mums cannot be rebels, it seems.

Jamie's twelfth birthday was nearly two weeks ago, and Jenny's second is two weeks from today.  Jamie's taken to telling Jenny the number of days left until her big day- I don't know that she quite understands the words yet, but she loves repeating them after her brother.  That sort of repetition will likely start getting us in trouble soon enough- hopefully I'll remember to start spelling out words when Jenny's around (though I know it'll be difficult enough to get Jamie or Atticus to do the same).

The "terrible twos" were difficult enough when I was twenty-two in my twenties younger- I'm not quite sure what possessed me to think I could do them again!
